Trimmed for performance
Overview This is where components and engines undergo years of aging in just hours – to make sure that the performance is right. Here are the test highlights at a glance:
  • Long-term tests
  • Low-temperature thermal shock tests
  • Nitrogen pressurized: After the engine’s test run, the individual combustion chambers are charged one after the other with nitrogen at up to 120 bar. The functionality and the sealing potential of the cylinder head gasket is assessed by means of tests conducted in the neighboring combustion chambers and the surrounding water channels.
  • Electronic distortion and roughness measurements on the top surface of the engine block and cylinder head before and after the test run.
  • Measurement of change in the screw force: we use ultrasonics to determine the pretension force before, during, and after an engine test run.
  • Analysis and evaluation of the adjoining parts: Friction damages, pitting, embossing measurement, and compression distribution after engine test run.
